HRA Junior Crew Team: Crew is one of the fastest growing sports among middle and high school students. The HRA Junior Rowing program is open to all middle school and high school students who have a desire to row at a competitive level. Our Junior Rowing program continues to grow and we are excited about the rowing futures of our young crew team.
2017-2018 School Year Weekly Practices Dates and Times - Times/days will be published closer to the beginning of the school year.
Middle School Program (grades 6-8)
High School Program (grades 9-12)
Program Investment: The HS rowing fee is $1440 (ten month commitment) More information will be shared closer to the start of the Fall Season.
HRA Masters Rowing: Masters practices are Tuesday, 5:30 - 7:30 AM; Thursday from 5:30 – 7:30 AM; Saturday practice from 6:30 - 8:30 AM. Members who put together boats may also row on Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays (provided equipment is available). Masters Rowers are asked to sign up on the weekly practice board in advance so boat assignments can be made in a timely manner allowing for maximum time on the water.
MASTERS MEMBERSHIP: $600 annual membership.The Halifax Rowing Association is the only rowing facility in Volusia County that gives its members year-round access to a variety of functions and events. Membership includes full use of the boathouse and its equipment. Anyone 21 years of age or older may participate as a Masters Rower.
NEW ADULT NOVICE PROGRAM! Graduates from the HRA Learn to Row programs or past rowers just wanting to get back in the boat can opt to participate in our Novice Rowing program. This is a new addition to the HRA line-up of offerings available to members. The Novice Crew will meet on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 5:30 AM and Saturdays at 6:30 AM.
FAMILY MEMBERSHIP: $325 annual membership dues for each additional Masters Rower of a current Masters Rower living at the same physical address (first Masters Rower @ $600; additional Masters Rowers residing at the same address $325 each)
MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP: $100 per month, up to five months maximum
Visiting Club Rowers (for non-members): Visiting rowers from other clubs (nationally or internationally) have six complimentary visits that may be used at any time throughout the year. Donations to HRA are always gladly accepted.
HRA Adaptive Rowing: Vision Impaired Persons Rowing Society (VIPRS) and Adaptive Rowing on Water (AROW) are designed for individuals with visual or physical limitations.
Private Sculling or Sweep Lessons: Our Head Coach, Ted Swinford, is offering private and group lessons (outside of the normal instruction provided during HRA coached sessions) for novice and experienced rowers alike.
Sculling - Individual/Beginner (no rowing experience): Three 1-hour sessions - $100. Email email@example.com for more information.
Private, as needed, sculling or sweep session/s. These sessions are primarily for experienced athletes looking to improve their stroke and racing performance. Participants need to sign a waiver of liability prior to participating in any private or group rowing activity as part of the club or private sessions. The waiver is at the boathouse and may be completed upon arrival or click here to download a copy prior to arrival.
